Jess is a criminal defense attorney at BK Law Group. Her passion and skill for criminal defense work extends to all types of cases and clients, as she also handles public defense cases in the Twin Cities. She believes every client deserves the best possible representation and is entitled to be fully informed and advised about their case and options.
Jess earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. She vigorously trained in trial techniques and strategy, and she externed at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Major Crimes Division. Before law school, she graduated from Colorado State University.
Prior to 2020, Jess was a civil defense litigator in personal injury and construction defect cases. During that year, like with many others, she re-evaluated her practice and priorities chose to do something different and more impactful as an attorney. Switching to criminal law was natural for her, and she has been able to use the skills and knowledge from her prior practice (such as experts, motions, trial work, etc.) into her current work.
Outside of court and the office, you can find Jess fostering dogs and playing rec-league kickball and softball.
