Kalen J. Best

Kalen Best is a criminal defense attorney who represents clients facing charges ranging from traffic and DWI offenses to serious felonies. She brings a strategic approach to every case, combining thorough preparation, creative problem-solving, and confident courtroom advocacy.

Before joining BK Law Group, Kalen clerked for a Hennepin County District Court judge assigned to felony criminal matters. That experience gave her a valuable behind-the-scenes perspective on how criminal cases are evaluated, argued, and decided, while allowing her to build strong professional relationships within the local legal community.

Following her clerkship, Kalen dedicated her practice to criminal defense, representing clients throughout Minnesota. She is known for identifying the details that can change the direction of a case, developing persuasive legal arguments, and negotiating persistently on behalf of her clients. Whether challenging the State’s evidence, negotiating a resolution, or advocating in the courtroom, Kalen approaches every case with the same goal: putting her client in the strongest possible position.

Kalen earned her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where she received national recognition from the American Bar Association for her oral and written advocacy skills.
